Elena Parris once combatively broke taboos, she shocked and provoked. Today, the Swiss artist is still breaking boundaries, namely those of conventional, classic photography.
Elena Parris has been successfully establishing herself as a photo artist and creator of new imagery for several years. After an excursion into architecture, she devoted herself passionately to photography.
She studied fine art at the UDK Berlin and worked alongside various renowned photographers, such as Helmut Newton. Parris was involved in the Cannes Film Festival, worked with top model Markus Schenkenberg and was on assignment for magazines such as ‘ELLE’, ‘Amica’, ‘annabelle’, ‘Faces’ and many others.
With her works, the artist shows that photography is no longer “l’art pour l’art”, but an effective medium for creating images.
After many successful years in commercially orientated photography, having worked in metropolises such as New York and Berlin, she now creates poetic, contemplative tableaux.
Elena Parris plays with techniques by overlaying the images to avoid any kind of realism. Elena Parris’ works are characterized by an unmistakable signature. Parris has already had numerous exhibitions worldwide, from Berlin to Shanghai, from Tbilisi to Zurich.
We are delighted to be showing the pictures for the first time in Zurich
